Weird, I can’t get to my Vox blog to post. Hmm. Anyway…
Was listening to the guys on TWiT talk about VOIP phone service and wanted to mention that we use VIA TALK at our house, and we also have a regular land-line for certain things. Brinks could use VIA TALK for the security alarm just fine, but not for the smoke/fire alarm, that needed a land line. Our property manager says (but we doubt she knows jack-sh*t) that we need “a land line” for the gate at the entrance to our community, and we will use the land line for DirecTV and Tivo, if we ever get all that stuff set up here at the new house.
We are liking Via Talk a lot. I love looking online to see who called, listen to voice mail, etc.
I also think (unrelated) that Grand Central is freaking cool, too.
UPDATE: This is why I can’t get to vox (thanks for the heads-up, Mike!)-

terror attack martial law plan is so shocking that even sitting members of Congress and Homeland Security officials are barred from viewing it,
what some kids later said was a common form of greeting. Now, Cory Mashburn and Ryan Cornelison, both 13, face the prospect of 10 years in juvenile detention and a lifetime on the sex offender registry…
I’m loving:
Mozy online backup.
GrandCentral, “the new way to use your phones”.
Social Sites:
Imified to post to Twitter & Jaiku at once as well as other sites.
I’ve joined Pownce but not really doing anything w/ it.
M. is totally addicted to Facebook but since he’s from Toronto he’s finding TONS of ppl he knows.
None of my 3-D friends are on any of these sites, they barely check email. So most of these services, in my case, are for keeping up w/ my internet buddies rather than my family and 3-D friends. :/
Is it just me or is this just a little fuxored up? Today I noticed something. If I log into a site and my password, is, say, JUST as an example, boing32dog, then after I log in, I start getting text ads for boingboing.net!
Should the site be scanning my PASSWORD for keywords for ads to serve me? Is that messed up or what?
